THE SERMON ON THE NEW CREATION IN EFHESIANS 2:1-10

                           

                      NEW CREATION (EPHESUS 2: 1-10)

    Everyone who is in the Lord Jesus Christ is a new creation. the new creation is the miraculous work of Allah. This is a fact that must be accepted by faith, namely when we believe and accept Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior, He makes us a new creation. What is meant by new creation. is:

1. Being made a new creation is a radical one that is done by Allah. Where humans who used to be sinners but God gave His Son, Jesus Christ, to atone for every sin of mankind, namely for those who believe in Jesus. When a person believes and accepts Jesus, He becomes a new creation, whose life belongs to Christ.

The old human condition, namely a fallen creation:

- To die in sin, "to live to sin" (2: 1)

- Conquered by the devil (2: 2)

- Dominated by a sinful nature (2: 3)

However, through faith in the Lord Jesus, a person will become a new creation.

- Live because of Christ, so that you desire and are enabled to seek and respond to God in Christ.

- Win over the devil, so that he no longer obeys the devil and his work.

- Freed from the power of the sin nature, so that they can obey God by doing good and serving God (4: 22-31). 

2. Being made a new creation means being freed from God's wrath. When people are still living in sin, they will receive God's wrath. But Jesus has already replaced all the penalties for sin, so that:

- Created again means being saved by God from His wrath (2: 3, 5)

- Being made new means no longer under condemnation, but having "a place with Christ in heaven" (2: 6-7)

 3. Being made new is the work of God's love. Being made a new creation is the work of God's great love for us, because:

- God who took the initiative, even planned it long before we existed (2: 4, 10)

- God who created us into new creatures (2: 4-10)
