RESPONDING TO GOD'S CALL (Exodus 24:12-18)

 

Shalom,

Let us always give thanks for the grace that God has given and we can still feel it so that we can still exist today and can also do all our activities.

Before doing anything, let us meditate on the Word of God taken in Exodus 24:12-18.

24:12 The LORD said to Moses, "Come up to Me on the mountain and stay there, and I will give you tablets of stone, the laws and commandments, which I have written to teach them."

24:13 Then Moses got up with Joshua his servant, and Moses went up to the mountain of God.

24:14 But he said to the elders, "Stay here waiting for us, until we come back to you again; aren't Aaron and Hur with you, anyone with a problem come to them."

24:15 So Moses went up the mountain and the cloud covered him.

24:16 The glory of the LORD dwelt on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered him for six days; on the seventh day he called Moses from the midst of the cloud.

24:17 The glory of the LORD appeared to be a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the sight of the Israelites.

24:18 Moses entered the midst of the cloud by climbing up the mountain. Then he stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights.”

            In this verse, explains how God called Moses to ascend to the top of Mount Sinai. God called Moses to hand over tablets of stone containing God's laws and commands to teach the Israelites. We see that Moses responded well and gave his time to God. In verse 18 it is explained that Moses stayed at Mount Sinai for 40 days and 40 nights. It is remarkable that Moses was not calculating in responding to God and giving his time to God.

            Here we also have to learn like Moses, which is to give time to God. Having intense time with God, having private time with God. Because we always need God in our lives. Because our lives are in God's control.
